The police are angry at a lack of coordination in the immigrant repatriation flights

More than 120 National Police held a sit down protest at the Tenerife Sur airport yesterday.

They are angry at alleged chaos in the repatriation process of the illegal immigrants who have arrived on the island.

Last night there was a flight which should have left for Senegal at 5,30pm, but was still on the tarmac at 11pm when the protest broke out.

The police claim there is a lack of coordination between the Spanish Interior and Employment Ministries, and they are also angry that the payment they receive for accompanying immigrants on the repatriation flights to set to be reduced from 120 to 60 €.
