Nerja and La Herradura are now linked by 9.5 kms of motorway
By m.p. - Mar 1, 2007 - 9:57 PM

This section of the Autovía del Mediterráneo cost more than 150 million €
The Nerja to La Herradura section of the Autovía del Mediterráneo is now open to traffic, following the official inauguration by Public Works Minister, Magdalena Álvarez, on Thursday afternoon.

The cost per kilometre makes it one of the most expensive sections of motorway in Spain owing to the complicated terrain in the area: more than 150 million € for 9.5 kilometres of road.

It cuts journey time between Málaga and Almuñécar down to 45 minutes.
