Izquierda Unida spokesperson at Nerja Town Hall has resigned as a councillor because of ‘discrepancies and differences’ with the coalition’s local coordinator,
Manuel Valero, and another IU councillor,
Rafael Vázquez.
Inmaculada Bueno Valverde’s decision comes after she voted with other political groups in the Town Hall last November to reject annulling a land sale contract in a project to build a golf course. It would have meant returning the money to the company which bought the land.
Valero wrote to the Mayor of Nerja at the time disassociating himself and the coalition completely from Bueno’s choice of vote. It is likely that he will now take over her position as councillor.
