The Prime Minister, José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, was the first guest to attend a new live television programme broadcast last night on TVE, Spanish state television. Called ‘I have a question for you’, the format for the show comes from France and sees 100 members of the public each asking the Prime Minister a question.

In a dull programme, Zapatero revealed a few items of interest. He said he is not a supporter of the plan from Judge Baltasar Garzón to see the previous PP Prime Minister, José María Aznar, charged with war crimes for supporting President Bush and Tony Blair in the war in Iraq.

He also repeated that the people of Navarra have their future in their own hands, and any one who says that is not the case, referring to the demonstration last weekend in Pamplona, is in fantasy land.

The Prime Minister said that women were just as capable, or more so, in his cabinet.

On a lighter note Zapatero, when asked if he knew how much a cup of coffee now cost, the PM replied quickly 80 cents, which raised more than a few eyebrows among the audience.
