They are amongst people arrested in January after a German couple were found shot to death in their home
Two of the five people who were arrested in January for the murder of a German couple in Chilches, near Vélez Málaga, have been released from custody. Charges against the two remain in place however, according to reports.
The five, who are four Moroccan nationals and another from Romania, were remanded to custody on 26th January on charges of murder, burglary and illegal possession of weapons. One of the two now released maintains that he was working in Granada province when the murder happened, a claim now said to be supported by statements from business owners.
Police believe the suspects belong to an organised gang of violent burglars: two of the Moroccans had been banned from entering the European Union, and the Romanian man had four arrest warrants against him, two of them for robbery with violence.
The 70 year old man and his 54 year old wife were found shot to death in their home, several days after police believe they had accepted a cash deposit for the sale of the property.
