A meeting took place between Carmen Calvo and Manuel Chaves yesterday

The Junta de Andalucía is to take over the control of all the museums in Andalucía previously under the control of the state, with one exception – the Bellas Artes in Sevilla, where the responsibility will be shared between Madrid and Sevilla.

The agreement comes following a meeting yesterday between the President of the Junta de Andalucía, Manuel Chaves, with the Minister for Culture, Carmen Calvo who decided to set up a technical commission to study the handover which will take place before the end of this legislature and come under the new Andalucian Statute.
