The event is a copy of one in New York
A mixture of politicians, sportsmen and journalists are expected to take part in an olive stone spitting competition to be held in Murcia on Saturday.
One of the organisers of the event, which will be held in the Plaza Cardenal Belluga has said that all the main party leaders, and even the King have been invited.
The event is being promoted in part by the 20minutos.es website.
In fact it is a copy of a competition held for the first time last August in Central Park in New York.

No, the N.Y. competition is a copy of the Spanish one, because it's an
annual traditional event. They've been doing it for donkey's!!!!!!!!!

The sport of semen-spitting is as old as the profession of prostitution,
perhaps the oldest sport known to mankind. Olive spitting is nascent in
comparison. I've personally spit semen at least 35 meters from the point
of delivery. I've even spat donkey semen (12 meters, tastes quite bad).
In NYC, Murcia, and Mumbai.
