Russian woman killed by her boyfriend in Torrevieja

A Russian woman who died in Torrevieja on Saturday night has become the second fatal victim of domestic violence in Spain this year, just two days after a British woman lost her life in Málaga province, allegedly at the hands of her partner.

EFE said emergency services arrived at the home the un-named Russian woman shared with her boyfriend near Calle de Los Molinos in Torrevieja at half past midnight on Sunday morning, but it was too late to save her life. The boyfriend, a 26 year old from Ukraine, is said to have arrived home drunk, and cut his girlfriend’s throat with a knife during an argument. He is now in custody.

It’s understood there was no previous history of domestic violence.
