Two killed in Santa Pola pileup and a fatal hit and run in the Murcia Region

It’s been a tragic weekend for traffic accidents on the Costa Blanca, with two people killed in Santa Pola and a 25 year old woman who lost her leg in an accident in Villena.
The first accident happened at a crossroads on the N-332 road on Sunday morning and involved four vehicles. The victims have not been named, but are given as a 75 year old woman and a man aged 30, with a 22 year old woman in a critical condition in Alicante General Hospital. Three others are in hospital in Elche with less serious injuries.
The Villena accident was on the A-31 at the first exit for Villena on Sunday afternoon, where the car driven by the 25 year old woman came off the road. Two young girls who were in the car with her, aged two and eleven, also suffered serious injuries. All three are in hospital in Elda.
In the Murcia Region, meanwhile, the Civil Guard are investigating a fatal hit and run which happened in the early hours of Monday in Los Alcázares, where a man aged between 30 and 40 lost his life. He was carrying no documentation and has yet to be identified.
Reports indicate the victim died instantly.
