Barcelona doctor placed webcam in his surgery toilet

A Barcelona doctor has been arrested for installing a webcam in the toilet of his consultancy room. The camera was hidden behind a radiator and was pointing at the toilet.

The doctor, named as Jordi I.P. had a high reputation in the city as a specialist in nutrition and sports medicine and for that reason several well known sportsmen and women, including motorbike rider Jorge Lorenzo, and ERC party leader Joan Puigcercós, had passed through his surgery.

The doctor has been granted bail by the instruction judge and will come to court in the city shortly charged with acting against a person’s intimacy which carries a 1 -4 year prison sentence. He claims the camera was installed as he thought his cleaning lady was stealing from him.

The camera came to light when a worker at the clinic saw a cable coming from behind the radiator and investigated. The single toilet was used by both staff and patients of both sexes.
