Prince Kardam of Bulgaria seriously injured in traffic accident

Prince Kardam of Bulgaria, heir to throne in the country which does not recognise the monarchy, is in a serious condition after a traffic accident on the N-1 road in El Molar near Madrid. His wife, Miriam de Ungría, was in the car and was also injured.

Sources at the 12 de Octubre Hospital in the capital say his Jaguar car left the road and crashed into a tree, overturning and ending up just ten metres from a home. He has suffered serious head injuries. The condition of his wife, who is in the La Paz hospital has not yet been made public.
