A mass of polar air ahead of a cold front will bring fast falling temperatures to Spain this week.
Cold winds will add to the sensation of cold and the wind chill factor will also see snow at lower heights than normal for this time of the year at 700 or 800m.
Highs could be between 10 and 12 degrees lower than of late and lows some 7 or 8 degrees lower.
The cold front will also bring rain to most of the country, entering through Cantabria and moving SE until Wednesday when a slight improvement is forecast in the centre and south, but when the rain and snow will continue in the north, but less heavily.
