The Ministry for Health in Spain, and the Valencia City Hall, have both said they will fine the Pacha discothèque in the city for raffling a cosmetic procedure to give one of the club’s clients larger breasts.

The raffle for the prize, worth 4,500 € takes place among those present in the club on December 5.

Minister for Health, Bernat Soria, has said his department has opened an investigation and disciplinary action against the club, adding that cosmetic surgery comes under his Ministry. He said he would be particular concerned if the advertising was aimed at those under 18.

Valencia regional government is investigating whether the publicity from the club is sexist, and regional health councillor, Loudes Bernel, voiced her ‘total indignation as a woman, and as being the person responsible for health, at this initiative which is frivolous with health’. She lamented the use that was being made of women by the club, demanded the raffle be cancelled and an apology be given.

The club manager, Carlos Monsell, says they will not cancel the boob job promotion as it is ‘nothing bad’ and not illegal.
‘I’m not the ETA terrorist Txeroki’, he added.
