As forecast the snow and ice made its way to the south of Spain yesterday and there were very few cities across the country where the temperature was above zero this morning. Towns such as Ronda or Castellón saw -4 degrees, and snow was seen inland in the Valencia region yesterday, with a heavy fall in Alcoy. Snow was seen in the coastal towns of Gandia and Dénia.

48 provinces, practically the whole country, are on alert.
The cold spell will continue in nearly all the country over the weekend, with the Spanish Meteorological Agency forecasting fresh snow falls in the East and freezing conditions in a good part of the peninsula. The Spanish press carries many photos of the snowfall on the beach in San Sebastián.

Tomorrow, Saturday will be cloudy or very cloudy in the south of Cataluña and Aragon as well as in the North of the Valencia region and along the Mediterranean Coast and in the area of the Strait and Melilla. Winds weak to moderate, northerly.
Temperatures will increase from the north of the country on Sunday.
