Valencia police crack down on parking Gorrillas

Police in Valencia took 451 unofficial car parking attendants, known popularly as Gorillas, off the streets of the city and before the prosecutor in 2008. The number is 108 more than in 2007.
In court they are usually fined, and if the fine is not paid then a home arrest order is issued. The central of the city and the hospital areas are where most of the gorillas are found in Valencia.
Some years ago an attempt to remove the unofficial car park attendants off the streets of Málaga only resulted in an increase in petty crime as a result.
