Two people have been arrested by police in Marbella after robbing a jewellers in the town. Police were alerted by a passerby who saw the thieves escape from the jewellers at 4,39pm on Monday afternoon, having taken items worth some 100,000 €.

EFE reports that the two arrested men, a Moroccan and an Ecuadorian, had entered the establishment with their faces covered and had threatened the owner with a 22cm knife. The two took refuge in a doorway of a street parallel to the robbery where they were arrested by the local and national police shortly after.

Meanwhile in a separate incident, Local Police in Alhaurín de la Torre, interrupted a robbery of a bank branch in the town at 8am on Monday morning and arrested two hooded youngsters as they left the bank with 62,000 € and carrying a false pistol.
It appears police were in the area by chance. The arrested men are in their 20’s and both are Spanish.
