The Civil Guard in Almería have arrested 32 illegal immigrants, whose boat was spotted 10 miles to the south east of Roquetas del Mar on Tuesday evening.
The vessel was spotted by a Civil Guard helicopter at 8pm, and located by a patrol boat just 40 minutes later, by which time it had travelled another 3 miles towards the coast. Two of the officers on board the helicopter were gendarmes with the Royal Moroccan Gendarmerie, as part of an agreement between Spain and Morocco.
The two men in charge of the boat face charges of infringing the rights of foreign nationals.
Another 22 illegal immigrants were picked up on an Adra beach on Monday morning.
