Two National Police officers have been arrested on Gran Canaria, for revealing privileged information to some of those implicated in the Faycán case in Telde. The case involves alleged corruption at the Town Hall.
They and a third person taken into custody have now been released with charges after declaring to the judge. All three have had their passports confiscated.
The Faycán investigations have implicated 26 people, and followed a complaint from a local businesswoman who reported that the public works department at the Town Hall had demanded a 20% commission for awarding a building contract to her company.
Francisco Valido resigned as the Partido Popular Mayor of Telde after his arrest in the case. Five PP councillors also implicated did the same.
