Molina de Segura announces water plan for urban expansion

La Verdad newspaper reports on a hydrological infrastructure plan presented by the Mayor of Molina de Segura, Eduardo Contreras Linares, which, at a cost close to 373 million € is designed to guarantee water supply for planned urban expansion.
The paper says the town’s General Urban Plan envisages developing an area of 48 million square metres for both residential and business use.
As far as water supply is concerned, the new infrastructure will include 13 water deposits, six pumping stations and 87 kilometres of pipeline.
La Verdad reports that sewerage will involve 156 kms of pipeline, three new treatment plans and five pumping stations, with the final part of the investment to go on management of rainwater drainage.
