The Malaya real estate corruption case, based in Marbella Town Hall, will be one of the first to use the new facilities at the Ciudad de la Justicia, the new court complex being built at Teatinos on the outskirts of Málaga City.

The case is already set to be the largest court case ever in Spain with 86 people accused and more than 100 lawyers involved.

A space of 1000 square metres in the new building has been reserved for the case, with the installations ready to come into service in January next year.

The case is expected to last more than a year and its cost to the public purse remains unknown. Regional Government Delegate for Justice, Aurora Santos, told the Opinión de Málaga newspaper that she preferred not to compare costs with the Madrid Train Bombings hearings which have cost the state 3.2 million €.
