There were more immigrant arrivals on the Canary Islands on Monday, with two boats carrying 22 and 53 people from Sub-Saharan Africa reaching Tenerife in the afternoon.
Ten of the passengers are believed to be juveniles.
A third boat spotted 50 miles south of El Hierro, with 60 people on board, was expected to reach land on Monday night, and another boat was intercepted off Lanzarote with 13 adults and 3 youngsters on board.
EFE reports meanwhile that four bodies have been recovered after a cayuco overturned in heavy seas after setting off from Mauritania last Saturday. Another 38 people were rescued safe and sound.
The French journalist who was on board the boat with the migrants, and who reported their plight to a passing Russian ship, said there were more than 70 people on board.
It takes the total number of immigrants to arrive on the Canaries over recent hours to 212.
