Prado Museum to offer free admission at the end of the day

The Prado Museum in Madrid is to offer free admission for the last two hours of opening Monday to Saturday. The change, to celebrate the Museum’s expansion will be introduced in November, and on Sundays the last four hours of opening will be free.
The news was announced yesterday by the Director of the Museum, Miguel Zugaza, who said it would come in after the official inauguration of the new wing by King Juan Carlos and the Prime Minister, José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero and the exhibition of 19th century Spanish masters.
During the week of the opening, from October 31 to November 4, the Prado will also be free – Tickets for that time are available on the Prado website or on 902 107 077.
Visitor numbers to the museum will be at record levels this year at more than two million.
