The Minister for the Interior, Alfredo Pérez Rubalcaba has said that the six alleged Islamist activists who were arrested in Burgos yesterday were part of an organised group.
He said that they controlled Mujahidin’s over the Internet, and held secret meetings where they planned to recruit people for Al Qaeda in Iraq and also organised fundraising, to send money to those who have been arrested.
The butchers shop owned by the man thought to be the leader of the group, used to be owned by one of the men found guilty of the bombing against Spanish interests in Casablanca in May 2003.
