Burgos province
One of the smallest resorts in the region, La Lunada, is in Espinosa de los Monteros, in the district of Las Merindades, in the North of Burgos province. The ski station has just seven runs - four red and three green – and a total skiable area of 1.78 kilometres.
There is also a cross-country circuit nearby. Its five ski lifts have the capacity to carry 2,000 people an hour.
There is another tiny ski station towards the southwest of the province, near the border with La Rioja. The Valle del Sol resort, in Pineda de la Sierra, in the Sierra de la Demanda has just one ski run – green – which is 500 metres long.

León province
Leitariegos, in the northwest of León province on the border with Asturias, offers 7 kms of skiable area, with 10 ski runs: five red, four blue and one green. Its five ski lifts are able to carry more than 5,000 people an hour. There is a ski school on site and a small hotel in the resort, with another one thousand beds available within a radius of 35 kms.
The San Isidro Winter Resort is in the North of the province, in Puebla de Lillo, on the border with Asturias, and very close to the Fuentes de Invierno ski station just over the border in the Principality. Both are in the San Isidro mountain pass – El Puerto de San Isidro – and the León resort is in fact slightly closer by road to the Asturias capital, Oviedo (66 kms) than it is to its own provincial capital (68 kms by the shortest route)
San Isidro is a well-equipped station, with 24 kms of skiable area, and 25 runs for skiing and snowboard (4 green, 8 blue, 11 red and 2 black). It is split into four sectors – Cebolledo, Requejines, Riopinos and Salencias-La Raya – with a system of 53 snow cannons supplying artificial snow to the Cebolledo area. A total of 15 ski lifts.
There are also five off-piste routes and a cross-country circuit. One ski school with 60 instructors for all levels of skill.

Salamanca province
The Sierra de Béjar-La Covatilla ski station is in the South of Salamanca province, near the border with Extremadura, just over 70 kms from the provincial capital and 227 kms from Madrid. The nearest town is Béjar.
There are 19 runs here: eight blue, three green and eight red, extending for a length of just over 19 kms between them. Five ski lifts, equipment hire and a ski school.

Segovia province
La Pinilla, in the northeast of Segovia province, is just a 50 minutes’ drive from the Plaza de Castilla district of Madrid (in the North of the city), and is ideal for a day out skiing for those who live in the Spanish capital.
The resort is in the Sierra de Ayllón 8 kms from Cerezo de Arriba. It is equipped with 24 runs: 13 red, 7 blue and 4 green, all together providing a little over 20 kms of skiable area, plus a system of 189 snow cannons. There are 13 ski lifts at the station and three ski schools.
