The Moroccan Government has issued a statement saying that its relationship with Spain ‘has passed through a crisis’ and that it hopes that the Spanish people will give it a hand to return to normal.
The statement will be welcomed by the Spanish Government which was genuinely surprised by the Moroccan reaction to the visit of the Spanish King and Queen to the Spanish enclaves of Ceuta and Melilla earlier this month.
However the Moroccan spokesman, Jalid Naciri, gave no date for the return of the Moroccan ambassador to Spain, and also said that the future of Ceuta and Melilla should be discussed between the two countries.
