The population of Málaga province has now reached one and a half million. It’s the inland villages where the largest growth has been seen, with Macharaviaya and Salares in the Axarquía leading the increase in numbers with growth of 16%.
From the start of the century the population of the province has grown by 18%.
A third of the total population of the province live in Málaga City itself.
The numbers come from the National Statistics Institute and look at the official ‘padron’ numbers in each town and village.
