Modern maestros of drawing, from Francisco de Goya to Lucian Freud can be seen at the current exhibition in the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum in Madrid. The show of art from the 19th and 20th centuries is a selection of 71 works, all on paper, from artists of the calibre of Goya, Toulouse Lautrec, Van Gogh, Gauguin, Miró, Freud, Francis Bacon or Warhol.
The pieces come from the private Spanish collection, the Abelló Collection, and it’s the first time that such a large selection has been shown in public together. The idea being that the visitor can follow the evolution of drawing across the 19th and 20th centuries.
The exhibition continues until February 17.
