The 13 million € makeover project for the Baños del Carmen in Málaga is out on public display, and once definitely approved, will mean two years of work to restore the old balneario, extend the current beach and build a new one next to Pedregalejo. Each of the beaches will be a minimum of 50 metres.
Almost 100,000 cubic metres of sand will be used. La Opinión de Málaga said the project includes two new breakwaters to protect the two beaches, and the balneario, once restored, will remain in use as a restaurant.
There are also plans for a new park, pergolas and walkways, and an artificial lake.
