Work has started in Estepona to demolish a partially-built hotel on La Rada Beach, whose construction was halted in 2003 for invading part of the public area of the shoreline and for being larger than planned.
Europa Press said demolition began on Monday morning, and will take around two months to complete. The cost is being met by the Coastal Authority, and will set them back 1.2 million €.

The Socialist Mayor of Estepona, Antonio Barrientos, described it as a ‘monstrosity’ and the ‘last vestige of the GIL era in Estepona.’
