A man who seriously injured his girlfriend in a stabbing attack at their home in Guadalajara on Monday morning, has died after falling from a footbridge under construction over the A-92 motorway as he tried to escape police. He was hit by a lorry and was instantly killed.
The woman, named as 44 year old A.N.G., was stabbed in the neck and legs, and it’s understood that while her condition is serious, her life is not in danger. Her 17 year old son from her previous partner is also in hospital after he suffered cuts to his hands when he tried to defend his mother.
She had reported her attacker for assault eight years ago, but there was no distancing or protection order in place, EFE said. Máximo Díaz-Cano, the central government representative in Castilla-La Mancha, told journalists that another complaint was placed by the son just last Friday and that the judge ordered a police investigation.
