Fifteen year old Amy Fitzpatrick from Ireland disappeared from Mijas on the night of New Year’s Day as she was walking home from the Calypso area to the Riviera del Sol Urbanisation, and there has been no trace of her since then. As the Civil Guard continue to investigate the case, her family, who said just recently they would hand out posters and leaflets of Amy across Spain, from Alicante to Gibraltar, have extended their search to Morocco.

Dave Mahon, the partner of Amy’s mother, Audrey, has travelled to Tangiers with a friend to hand out posters and photos of the teenager. It’s reported that the family has no leads that Amy might be there, but it is easily accessible from the Costa del Sol, just a short ferry ride across the Strait of Gibraltar from Algeciras, across the border in Cádiz province.

Amy turns 16 this Thursday, and her mother told Rem.fm that her older brother, Dean, who wrote a heart-rending letter released last month pleading with her to come home if she can, is holding a party in a local bar to celebrate his sister’s birthday.

The Civil Guard meanwhile continue to search for a British registered white Ford Fiesta which went missing around the time Amy disappeared and which they believe she may have taken. The registration number is C955 SLK, and anyone who may see the vehicle is asked not to touch it to avoid destroying any evidence, and to call 062 urgently.

Amy has black hair, is 1.65m tall, and was wearing black track suit bottoms and a T-Shirt with the word ‘Diesel’ when she was last seen. The contact telephone numbers for any information on her whereabouts are 112, 062, 686 044 181 and 952 474 030.
