The local criminal who confessed to the murder of Dolores Amaya Ramírez, the Chiclana shop assistant from Conil de la Frontera who was stabbed to death as she was closing up shop on 14th February, has been remanded to custody after appearing in Instruction Court No. 3 in Chiclana. He confessed to the crime following his arrest on Saturday, and is accused of homicide.
The knife believed to have been used by 24 year old J.M.J.S. was found on Sunday after Civil Guard divers dragged the River Iro which runs through Chiclana. Officers also found bloodstained clothing in a search of his home this weekend.
He admitted that his motive was robbery, and was arrested when he was identified as the man responsible for the robbery of another shop in Chiclana which took place on the afternoon that Dolores Amaya Ramírez was fatally stabbed.
