Dénia judge again refuses to marry two British gay men

Controversial Dénia judge, Laura Alabau, who has already been disciplined for similar behaviour, has again denied, for the third time, to carry out a gay wedding, this time between two British men. She does so because she says that marriage between homosexuals is not recognised in Britain.
An earlier similar defence, apparently after an application from the same British couple, was thrown out in 2006, and the judge was fined the sum of 310 € for a serious fault.
The judge in the Civil Registry in Denia now faces another disciplinary procedure as the prosecutors’ office has already announced an appeal to the Ministry for Justice.
