Renault have revealed a new rear seagull wing-shaped aileron on their new R-28 car which will be used for the first time in the first Formula One race of the new season in Australia. The team which has Fernando Alonso as their main driver, see themselves behind Ferrari and McLaren, and hope the new flap will reduce their lap times by four tenths of a second.
The modification is currently under test in a wind tunnel.
Alonso has been playing down his chances of success this year, given the problems with the new Renault car, although he said there is time for improvements to be made.
