The gunman who was arrested after an 18 hour police siege of a house in Castell de Ferro in October 2006 has received a prison term of nine and a half years in line with a prior agreement reached by the defence and prosecution. The sentencing came from the provincial court in Granada on Wednesday, Europa Press reports.
Francisco Antonio M.M., also known as El Kiki, fled to a friend’s house in the El Romeral area of Castell after a shooting two weeks earlier when he injured his former girlfriend with a shot which went off in a struggle her current partner. Negotiations took place throughout the night until the police Special Operations Group, GEO, finally decided to move in at around 6am, disarmed the gunman and took him into custody.
