Three members of the same family, a father and his two disabled children have perished in a fire in Galicia, when their wooden house in Aranga, La Coruña, went up in flames in the early hours of Thursday. The bodies of the two children, 39 year old M.G.A. and J.G.A., aged 36, were the first found to be found, and their father, M.G.R. aged 66, some hours later. Their home was completely destroyed.

The fire brigade were called out to the house shortly after 5.15 on Thursday morning and were able to recover the first two bodies around two hours later. The father’s body was not found until 11.30, and it’s understood that the intense heat at the scene and the weakened structure of the building made the recovery operation a more risky procedure.

EFE reports that the family and their pets were trapped in the wreckage of the house when the roof fell in and were unable to escape the blaze. There has been no news yet on how the fire started.
