Four out of eight Romanian men arrested last week for beating a countryman to death in Zújar, Granada province, have been remanded to custody by the court in charge of the investigation, Instruction Court No. 2 in Baza. The remaining four have been ordered to report to the court once every fortnight.
The body of the 34 year old victim was found on a street in the village last Tuesday night, and, according to information from the local Mayor, Juan José Pérez, it’s understood that he and the accused had been working on farms in the area for around the past five months. EFE reports that he died during an argument over an unpaid debt with one of the suspects, an amount said to be between 5 and 10 €.
