Pensioner reported missing in El Ejido

A search party of some one hundred people, including Civil Guard and sniffer dogs, were unsuccessful in their efforts on Sunday to find any trace of 70 year old Rafael Moreno, who was last seen on the morning of Friday 21st March when he left his home in El Ejido. The missing man’s son, Rubén Moreno, told Ideal newspaper that the search will now extend to the area of Los Berchules in the Granada Alpujarra, where his father was born, in the hope that he may have returned to his home town.

Rafael Moreno left his home 10 days ago with just his house keys and a mobile phone which has been diverted to voicemail ever since. His son told the newspaper that the missing man does not suffer any illnesses, and had some time ago started to come out of the depression he had been suffering since the death of his wife.
