The world music festival Womad is to finally stay in the Extremadura town of Cáceres which will host the 17th edition of the gathering between May 8 and 11.

The organisers have notes the efforts made to guarantee that the spirit and philosophy of the festival is maintained as they sign a new agreement with the Consorcio Gran Teatro de Cáceres.

It had been announced earlier in the year that Womad would no longer be held in Cáceres following differences of opinion and direction with the local authorities, but now these problems have, it seems, been solved. Details of those appearing in the music arts and dance festival are to be released later.
