For less than it might cost you to buy a small flat on the coasts of Spain, you can purchase 40% of an abandoned village.

The village of Lacasta, near Luna in Zaragoza, has been put up for sale for 189,000 € by the group of owners of the properties, who all now live in Madrid. There is even the ruins of an old castle in the village where nobody has lived for the past 30 years.

Already there has been interest in the 30 hectares of the village, from those who plan to convert it into a rural retreat or a therapeutic centre. Some of the other owners say they do not want to sell, and this why only 40% of the village is currently up for grabs.

The sale has come thanks to the activities of a website - www.pueblosabandonados.es
