The Civil Guard intercepted an inflatable launch some 8 miles off Mesa Roldán in Carboneras in Almería. It happened around 10pm on Thursday night.
The boat was carrying eight Moroccan immigrants, all adult males, who were travelling in the boat which was in a very poor condition with one side already deflated.
A coastguard patrol closed in on the immigrants at twenty to one in the morning and took the travellers into Almería port where they were attended to by the Red Cross. The National Police will now proceed with their extradition back to Morocco.
