The Police in the Sevilla town of Écija decided to wait until after the funeral for the six members of the same family who died in a house fire in the town before moving to arrest 15 people they had identified for assaulting a fire engine and the fire service.
Local people contend that the fire service were late on the scene at the fire last Sunday and a group stoned the fire engine which went to the scene.
All 15 arrested are adult males from the Las Moreras area of the town, and the ten of them who declared before the duty judge in the town in Saturday were all released with charges and ordered to register at the court on the 1st and 15th of every month until the case against them comes to court.
They face public order charges, but several of them are reported to have a previous record for drug trafficking and making threats.
