The injuries suffered to MotoGP rider Jorge Lorenzo’s ankles are now reported to be worse than previous thought.
The Spaniard suffered a spectacular fall in practice ahead of the China Grand Priz in Shangai, and took part in the race, coming fourth, despite hardly being able to move.

But the opinion of Xavier Mir, in the Dexeus Clinic in Barcelona is that there has been a fracture in the right ankle and broken ligament in the left.
The rider is to undergo exploratory surgery on Monday to evaluate the extent of both injuries, but it has already been established that the right ankle is far more seriously damaged than thought after the first diagnosis in China.

Lorenzo is second un the MotoGP race, seven points from Dani Pedrosa. It’s his first year in the top category and he has started with three pole positions and a win so far.
