The Prince and Princess of Asturias have started a visit to Poland, accompanied by some 50 Spanish businessmen and women.
On the first day of the three-day visit on Tuesday the royal couple signed the book at the tomb of the unknown soldier in Warsaw.
It’s the first trip abroad where Doña Letizia will have her own personal agenda. During the trip they will dine with the Polish president, Lech Kaczynski, and the Spanish businessmen hope to pick up several construction contracts ahead of Poland hosting the 2012 European Cup. The country also has rich European cohesion funds to spend.
Some social commentators back in Spain have commented on how thin the Princess looks in Poland.
