The Ex Municipal Real Estate Assessor in Marbella Town Hall, Juan Antonio Roca, the man at the centre of the Malaya corruption case, has said that he has lost 24 million € because of the Spanish justice system.

Roca’s lawyer, José Aníbal Álvarez, says that those who have intervened his client’s assets in the Malaya case have not been attending to mortgage payments, for example, which his client is obliged to pay.

The lawyer says he is to ask the judge for an audit to establish the money lost by his client, which he estimated at 24 million €. He made his comments in the Málaga Provincial Court yesterday at a hearing which was called to establish the reasoning for the one million € bail set against Roca in the Malaya case. Álvarez said that some of Roca’s assets had simply ‘disappeared’.
