A Chinese businessman has been arrested in the Madrid town of Coslada in connection with the allegations of widespread local police corruption in the town.
News has just been released of the arrest which was carried out by the judicial police last Wednesday as part of the ‘Operación Bloque’ corruption affair.
National Police sources said that the man was released, with charges, after questioning, but the extent of his involvement in the case remains unclear.
Meanwhile the Socialist Coslada Town Hall has denounced that the Partido Popular has slandered the Mayor of the town Ángel Viveros. The Town Hall considers that the opposition has been ‘sewing seeds of doubt’ as to the action of the councillors in the town.
The P.P. has meanwhile called for the resignation of the Mayor and the creation of a commission to investigate whether there are political responsibilities in the case.
