Fernando Alonso finished tenth in the Monaco Grand Prix, and said after the race that he was to blame. He said that he took risks and they did not come off, and it was his fault.
In a wet race anything can happen, and he said that Renault had gone for extreme wet tyres but then saw the track dry out which complicated things greatly.
‘Now we don’t need a miracle’, he said, ‘We need two or three’.
The race was won by Lewis Hamilton despite suffering a puncture and the British driver now leads the championship table.
