ETA set off an explosion on Saturday night against the premesis of the Amenabar construction company in Zarauz, Guipuzcoa.
The device went off at 2,28am after a phone warning was made an hour before hand to the DYA traffic service in Vizcaya.
The explosion caused three slight injuries. Two ‘Ertainas’ regional policemen needed attention after their hearing was damaged by the blast and a third man suffered cuts in his face although he was treated on site and then allowed home.
The Amenabar company is taking part in the project to extend Spain’s national high speed train line service, AVE, to the Basque region, and the line has been one of ETA’s continued targets.
Police say it was a low powered device which only caused damage to the façade and entry to the building, although some windows were blown in as far as 50 metres away.
The attack is the first sign of ETA activity since the detention of the man claimed to be the group’s ‘number one’, Thierry, who was arrested with three other activists in Bordeaux in France last May 20.
