The ex Partido Andalucista Mayor of Algeciras, and the man currently responsible for the cooperation between the Junta de Andalucía and the North of Morocco, Patricio González, was informed on Tuesday this week that he has been charged in the Somixur Case.

El País reports that this refers to alleged real estate irregularities in the running of the Somixur company, made up with capital from Algeciras Town Hall and the Aldía real estate company.

González faces charges of accepting illegal commissions, illegal enrichment and the mis-use of public funds. Another six people are charged in the case and all are set to declare to the Instruction Court 3 in Algeciras on July 15. They include one of the owners of the Aldía company, Fernando Alpresa García and Juan Pérez from the Somixur company.

Patricio González has denied the allegations, and has said he has no problem in declaring.
