Cameroon man arrested in connection with the death of Colombian woman in La Rioja

A man has been arrested in connection with the death of his girlfriend in Logroño, La Rioja, in what is Spain’s latest case of domestic violence.

National Police say they have arrested a Cameroon man in connection with the death of the 26 year old Colombian woman in her home last Friday. He was arrested after being treated in a health centre for the injuries he inflicted on himself after killing his partner. He confessed to police that he had carried out the attack, strangling the victim to death.

The couple had been living together for more than six years and has a five year old son. Police say there is no previous record of domestic violence in the home.
